A Bit About Me

A Devoted Piano Instructor

After graduating from USC and VanderCook with music degrees, I discovered my passion when I began my career as a choral music educator in 1989. In 2002 I became the Director of Piano Studies at the highly acclaimed Rollings Middle School of the Arts, considered one of the premier fine arts and academic programs in the state of South Carolina.  I have also held the position of Director of Music Ministries at Greater Unity AME Church for over 40 years. Although I recently retired from public school after 32 years of service, I am currently the state chair for the SCMEA Piano Festival.  I really enjoy working with people, especially children, and love the thrill of understanding when something difficult “clicks” for the first time.

I have a gentle approach that brings great results and believe that learning should be fun and pressure-free. To find out more about my approach, the types of courses and classes I offer, or my background, please get in touch and I’ll be happy to give you more information.
